Triangle Veterinary Emergency Clinic does not have any licensed
wildlife rehabilitators on staff at this time, and so will direct
wildlife calls to a rehabilitator in the caller's area. Rehabilitators are
often overwhelmed during baby season (for most species this is springtime), so be prepared to leave a message
- they'll return your call as soon as possible. Until you hear from
them, do not try to feed the wildlife. Place the animal in a box or
kennel and them put them in a dark, quiet, warm location until you have
directions from a rehabilitator. Please minimize the stress to the
animal and the risk to yourself my minimizing contact.
If you
have discovered an injured, adult wild animal DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CAPTURE
IT. Contact the animal control department in your area immediately.
If it is after normal hours, dial 911 and ask to have the animal
control officer on duty paged.
